Sweet Japanese umami explosion! Add a bit of rice and you‘re good to go. Hijiki is a seaweed.


Ingredients serve 2 persons

20g dried Hijiki

ca. 1.5dl water

1 teaspoon dashi (Japanese fish stock)

1 teaspoon sugar

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon cooking sake

1 teaspoon sesame oil

Soak hijiki in some hot water, for about 5mins.

Put the 1.5dl of water into a glass and add to it dashi, soy sauce, sake and sugar. Mix well

Drain hijiki and fry in pan with previously heated sesame oil for 1min.

Add the mix from the glass and cook for 7-8min until almost all liquid is gone.
